DIY Kid-Friendly Kindness Advent Calendar

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Welch’s Fruit Snacks. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I grew up Roman Catholic and the Advent Calendar was always my favorite. Thinking back to that time, I can still smell the heat from the old radiators that were in our Catholic school building built in the 19th century and the soft snow that waited to greet us during the December months. Our advent calendars were always religious and filled with little pieces of milk chocolate.

While advent calendars are normally filled with religious epitaphs, my favorite thing about making my own is that we can fill them with whatever we want to! My favorite filling is chocolate but I’m not really trying to get my kids hopped up on chocolate so this year we chose a more unconventional option with Welch’s gummies! My kids love these so much.

DIY Kid-Friendly Kindness Advent Calendar

With my kids being of the age where they can be mean to each other, I really wanted to have daily activities that encouraged them being kind to not only one another but to society period. For our advent calendar, I wanted to make sure that it matched the rose gold and copper theme that we have for holiday decorations this year but also representative of the kids’ creativity too.

Materials:

  • Mini stockings
  • Glitter Glue
  • Glitter Letters
  • Iron on Numbers
  • Copper lights
  • Festive decorations
  • Welch’s Fruit Snacks
  • 24 Acts of Kindness

Directions:

  1. Iron on the numbers to each of the stockings.
  2. Let your kids go to town on the decorations while you hang the lights.
  3. Let the stockings dry.
  4. Stuff the stockings with the daily acts of kindness and the Welch’s Fruit Snacks

Putting together the advent calendar was a lot of fun for my kids. I love watching them be creative and I was really excited to see their creations. Every day they look forward to pulling out the daily act of kindness to complete before receiving their treat of the fruit snack. Making our kindness advent calendar was so much fun that I think it’ll become our annual tradition!
