There have been moments where I thought I dug myself in too deep and wouldn’t be able to get out. There have been moments where I was so scared I was sick to my stomach yet I pushed through.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have loved and lost and loved again. I have lost myself and found her over and over again. I have been depressed and anxious and laughed harder than I ever had.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And on this day of my 36th year, I love myself with every single flaw. Thank you to my loved ones, my family (both chosen and blood) for being on this ride of life with me.   • It’s about to be birthday season around these parts. First up is mine on the 20th, then D’s is the 31st.   • This quote popped up in a book I’m reading and couldn’t have been more timely. . Today I had to have a hard conversation with Mini about #bodypositivity after she made some less than positive comments about my body. . After telling her that it’s not our place to comment on other people’s bodies, their weight, etc, I somehow got down the rabbit hole of how I ended up the size I am now. . The reality is, I don’t take care of myself the way I do everyone else. I am my afterthought. I explained this to her and she asked “well who takes care of you?” We were both hit with a harsh reality when I responded, “No one.” . But I have to do better. I want my kids to know that taking care of yourself is a radical act. I can’t teach by telling, rather through modeling with how I treat and care for myself.
  • Last weekend my family and I had the opportunity to literally getaway from it all courtesy of @getawayhouse. . We took walks, read, played card games and just let our hair down.   • Feeling cute... might avoid doing laundry today. #grovepartner . Just kidding! . The more people in the house, the faster the laundry multiplies and with a family of 5, we cannot afford to skip laundry days. .
